The construction of the skatepark and leisure complex on Západní Street is nearing completion. When will it open?

Work on the new skatepark and leisure complex on Západní Street is nearing completion. The construction, which promises modern facilities not only for skateboarders but also for families with children, is almost finished. However, residents will have to wait a little longer for the grand opening.

There is still lively construction activity on the premises, with work underway on all fronts and the final touches being completed. The skatepark, parkour area, gazebo, and zone with a slide and other features are finished. The paving of the sidewalks that crisscross the entire complex and connect to the paths leading to the pool and along the Mandava River is being finished. Nevertheless, the opening of the complex must be postponed by a few weeks. The reason?

"We want the space to be completely ready and safe for all visitors. At the moment, we are working on landscaping and the lawn, which will take a few more weeks," explains Mayor Jan Šimek, explaining the reason for postponing the grand opening.

However, the grand opening will not be just a formal event – the city is planning an accompanying program. Visitors can look forward to skateboarding demonstrations, musical performances, and other entertainment. The new leisure complex on Západní Street is set to become one of the main meeting places for young people in the city. The residents of Varnsdorf can look forward to a modern space that will serve all generations.
